Markets we serve
Manuscripti provide a wide range of digital solutions to Local Authorities, Associations & Institutes, Archives and Private Collectors.
While organisations in each of these sectors face their own individual challenges, what they have in common is the custodianship of substantial collections of unique and often priceless content. Until recently these collections have been viewed by only the privileged few who have been fortunate to be granted access.
We help organisations to unlock this wealth of content and deliver it in formats which are both cost effective and secure, enabling both public access and a guarantee that such information will never be lost. Take a look at our solutions pages and find out what we can do for you
Examples of how Manuscripti is currently working with particular markets:
Cemeteries and Crematoria
Manuscripti assists Cemeteries and Crematoria with conserving their burial record documents. These can be used for archiving purposes, integration into new or existing management systems and providing databases for public access, in order that they can respond better to the growing interest in family history research and generate revenue from it through Deceased Online.
In response to this Manuscripti and Gower Consultants have created a new online service called Deceased Online. Any council or organisation that has registers, indexes and/or cemetery and crematorium records can have their information accessble through Deceased Online.
Manuscripti work closely with councils using a wide variety of Software packages, in particular Gower Consultants. Gower Consultants have been providing software solutions to bereavement departments of local authorities for over 20 years.
Associations and Institutes
Manuscripti is currently working with a number of major associations and institutes to create digitised versions of particularly fine works from specialist subject collections which to date have been accessible only by the privileged few.
This has been made possible through the combination of our specialist skills, our book and document friendly digitisation techniques and innovative presentation solutions involving our own page turning software. The final product allows the public to browse and experience the content of the original books and documents without the risks of physical interaction. The digital format also can allow multiple members of the public to simultaneously access the same book or document over a broader range of interfaces, including the internet, CD and DVD-ROMS and exhibition style touch screen consoles, all of which are supplied by Manuscripti.
Local Studies Libraries
Manuscripti is currently working with various Local Studies Libraries to create digitised versions of popular titles which can be printed on demand as physical facsimiles or purchased as CD's from shops and online.
